This summer, we’ll once again see this community collaboration at work in Austin, Garfield Park, and North Lawndale. The 10th, 11th, 15th, and 25th Police Districts have teamed up for the 6th season of the conference. This year 400 boys and girls in grades 3rd through 8th will be given access to free baseball in 6 different parks around the Westside. Parks participating: Columbus Park, Levin Park, Garfield Park, Moore Park, La Follette Park, and UCAN. The formula for the success of the collaborative program is the three-legged stool model: a partnership of police, churches, and nonprofit organizations focused on building community. Chicago Westside Sports continues to be more than just sports; it is a catalyst for transformation.
